Well our 2012 retreat has come and gone but, did we ever have a wonderful, fun filled time. It was at the same place as last year "The Inn at the Amish Door" in Wilmot, Ohio deep in the
♥ of Amish country and the weather let me tell you it could not have been any better than if we could have planned it ourselves sunny 70's just perfect. There were 39 ladies who worked on any kind of project you can imagine...some quilt tops start to finish, some already started then finished, mats for under your sewing machine, purses same pattern just different fabric, ironing mats, beautiful items. We had gifts each day waiting for us when we came down each morning prizes drawn and I was one of the lucky one's I got a Sudoku quilt kit it has 2 charm packs for making it, just need sashing & backing for it. We were there over St. Paddy's Day so most everyone had on some sort of green and if you went to Mrs. Miller's Dry Good's shop you got 20% off your purchase for wearing green so you know of course we made a trip there. We laughed till we cried, ate till we were almost sick and stayed up late till we could hardly see but, it was the best weekend and can't wait to go again next year and we get to go 2 times March & Oct. yippee. Hope you enjoy my pictures of just a few of some of the beautiful things made.Wednesday, March 21, 2012

Twist & Turn
I loved this pattern when I seen it in the Quilter's World magazine and knew I had to make it because the fabric is Swanky by Chez Moi for Moda and it is one of my favorite collections and I have alot of it. It was so much fun to make and very easy I now have to find just the right fabric for the backing which I'm going to go looking today for it so I can get it finished and have someone quilt it for me...don't think I will attempt this one myself.
These are the blocks I made for our Row x Row Robin for quilt guild it is a simplified version of the Cathedral Window block it's called 3D faux Cathedral Window. It was fun to make and very simple the fabric I used is Elm Creek Quilts Caroline's Collection by Jennifer Chiaverini for Red Rooster Fabrics I fell in love with it the minute I saw it, so this is what I've been up too lately hope to be back soon with the finished Twist & Turn quilt till then Happy stitching from me to you!!
